ACTIVITY 4B SEOUL

Read the link below and select the 7 aspects (out of 50) which were mentioned/visited in our webquest

Write in your blog an entry (BLOG-ENTRY_010) , stating why you chose them and found them interesting for you.

(BLOG-ENTRY_010) ACTIVITY 4B SEOUL

After reading and analyzing all these aspects from Seoul, we have chosen seven of them that we consider the most special or interesting and we have been looking for similarities with our country.

  1. 24 hour studying rooms (38). This is the first item that we chose. As we have read, the education is one of the most sensitive topics for Seoul citizens and for that reason, there are 24 hour rooms available to rent. It is important for the students to have quiet provided rooms in order to ease their learning, but maybe these rooms should be financed by the government to promote their education. In our country there are a very few libraries opened 24 hours, but in most of the cases only in the big cities and during the exams period. That’s why most of the students can’t improve their studies at any time they would like.

  2. Canine coffee breaks (18). For people who have pets it is amazing to be able to sit in a bar to take a coffee while enjoying the company of his dog. If the dog is well trained there shouldn’t have to be any problem. In our country it is difficult or maybe impossible to find that kind of bars.

  3. Heated floors (27). It is a good idea to have heated floors installed in Korean traditional restaurants, where the tables are low and there are embroidered cushions to sit. Surely that there are more than one customer who have a nap after having lunch!

  4. 5. Bibimbap (26) and Galbi (1). We have chosen these topics because of the typical Korean dishes. The most popular Korean dish is called Galbi, which consist of marinated barbecued ribs and the second typical dish is called Bibimbap, which is a rice bowl mixed with sautéed roots. It is interesting to learn about gastronomy while you travel and taste the typical dishes, they look delicious!

  5. More side dishes than main dishes (49). Related with typical dishes, there is also this topic. A well laid table is important for a good meal, and color is an important point that Korean people keep in mind. There are plenty of color on the table displays. We are sure that we can’t make comparisons between color on a Korean table and our tables, as ours are terribly bland.

  6. World’s smartest and cheapest, personal assistants (3). Because of the busiest life of Korean citizens, they are able to pay a low fare for a dry and cleaning service, delivery food and any other scheduled chores. This is important to make their life easier and to have more free time to spend with their family or relax. In our country, life is also stressful, but in most of the cases this kind of services are expensive and not everybody can afford them.
